  1. Jose Quintana Joins Team “Try Not To Suck in the 2nd Half”

    The #Cubs won’t get to show off new pitcher Jose Quintana just yet, but they are back in action against the #Orioles Friday and looking to get on track following a disappointing open to the season. The World Champs hope Quintana, acquired from the White Sox in a blockbuster trade Thursday, can aid their struggling rotation, but first it will turn to Mike Montgomery (1-6, 3.75) against the O’s. The Cubs are 43-45, well behind their 53-35 mark through 88 games last season.

  2. IOWA CUBS HOME OPENER

    DOWN ON THE FARM – The 2017 @IowaCubs home opener is today. Led by 22-year-old infielder Ian Happ, the I-Cubs will start the season with eight @Cubs top prospects, as rated by Baseball America. Included in this collection are OF Mark Zagunis, INF Jeimer Candelario, LHP Rob Zastryzny, RHP Pierce Johnson, INF Chesny Young, C Victor Caratini and LHP Jack Leathersich. RHP Alec Mills was also recognized as the Royals’ No. 22 prospect prior to a February trade to the Cubs.

  4. It’s a Three Game Series

    The #Cubs’ 10-2 win evened the series at 2-2 and ensured it will move back to Wrigley Field after Game 5 at Dodger Stadium on Thursday. And with the Cubs now owning home-field advantage in what will essentially be a best-of-three series and their offense again appearing like the world-class unit it was all season, they appear the favorite to move on to the franchise’s first World Series since 1945.
