SHOTGUN! – Ridesharing service takes Marlins fans out to the ballgame

The Miami Marlins have become the first professional sports team to partner with #Eventride, an #Uber-like service that enables sports fans to ride to a game together.

After fans log into Eventride with their #Facebook account, they can choose to either give a ride or hail a ride to #Marlins Park. Drivers then set the price, how many seats are available, which game they are willing to drive to and then agree to the price. Riders coordinate return trips during the ride to the game and can even share the cost for gas and parking.

It sounds like Eventride could make #Cubs games a little more fan friendly at Wrigley Field and become a tailgaters best friend for #Bears games. The service would also offer White Sox fans with suspended licenses and expired insurance coverage an alternative to public transportation…providing of course that they have a smart phone.
