  1. Cubs look like Bears but play like winners

    Joe Maddon had the #Cubs finish the regular season in style with a football jerseys trip for the short travel from Pittsburgh to Cincinnati. Each player donned their favorite high school, college or pro team’s gridiron colors. Javier Baez, Miguel Montero, Addison Russell and Ben Zobrist were among those Cub players who wore the number 34 uniform of #ChicagoBears Hall of Famer Walter Payton.

  2. WINNING BASEBALL-101

    Chris Coghlan hit a three-run triple, Dexter Fowler added an RBI double and Albert Almora Jr. came off the bench to hit a double and a triple as the Chicago Cubs (101-56) beat the reeling Pittsburgh Pirates 6-4 on Tuesday night. John Lackey (11-8) worked in and out of trouble over five innings, while allowing five hits and three walks to win his last regular season start.

  3. Cubs Cruise, Cards Snooze

    Jake Arrieta struck out 10 in seven innings and the Chicago Cubs beat the sloppy St. Louis Cardinals 5-0 on Friday for their 98th victory, the most since they last played in the World Series in 1945.

  4. Wrigley Field Rewind

    The visiting #LosAngelesAngels actually played their inaugural 1961 season in #WrigleyField. Not the iconic (1927) Wrigley Field at Clark and Addison that we all know and love, but the original (1925) Wrigley Field in Los Angeles that played home to the #Cubs’ Pacific Coast minor league team the Los Angeles Angels. #MLB expansion to the west led to the Gene Autry owned major league Los Angeles Angels taking residence for it’s 1961 inaugural season before eventually landing in Anaheim Stadium.
